SUMMARY After changing Plasma Style to Oxygen, Kickoff icon in panel will no longer change until Plasma shell is restarted. Seems like a caching issue, or flacky error handling. Oxygen doesn't provide "start-here-kde.svg", so the icon I'm seeing after applying this theme is a colorful fallback from Breeze. However, once applied it won't reload on theme change anymore. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 0. Open System Settings -> Appearance -> Plasma Style KCM 1. Select Ark Dark theme (install it from "Get New Plasma Styles…" if you don't have it yet) and apply it. 2. Select Oxygen and apply it. 3. Select Breeze or Ark Dark and apply again. OBSERVED RESULT After step 1 the icon changes as expected: Ark Dark provides an svg for it. After step 2 the icon changes to a colorful Plasma icon (white arrow, three red-green-blue dots). After step 3 the icon doesn't change. EXPECTED RESULT The icon must always reload when a theme changes. PlasmaCore.IconItem has been removed for Plasma 6 and replaced with Kirigami.Icon. Can you still reproduce the issue with current git master, Ivan? I cannot.

Yeah, somehow accidentally fixed by porting to KSvg and dropping separate Plasma icon themes.
