STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Navigate to a directory containing a zipfile 2. Double-click on the zipfile 3. Select "extract archive here" from the zipfiles context menu OBSERVED RESULT In step 2 above, the first attempt produces a KDE pop-up dialog reporting a crash, but without any other information. Krusader does not terminate. Further attempts to view the archive content resulr in the animate "wait" circle, which displays indefinitely. In step 3 above, nothing happens. EXPECTED RESULT The contents of the archive should displayed or unpacked, or an error message displayed if that isn't possible. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Ubuntu Studio 22.04 LTS (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.6 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.98 Qt Version: 5.15.3 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I am running Krusader from a privileged account, but not in root mode. The archive is in a directory with 755 permissions, but the logged in user has write permission. The Windows 10 unpacker is able to unpack the archive, which is a zipfile downloaded from https://github.com/finance-quote/finance-quote. The packers tab in the dependencies screen of Krusader's settings is set to defaults, and includes 7z, bzip2. cpio, dpkg, gzip, lzma, tar, unzip, zip and xz, all of which appear to be present on my system. I don't see "krarc" anywhere, but picked it because it is the only "Component* option pertaining to archives.
Is this still an issue? The "extract archive here" action (actually all that are in the "Compress" sub menu) is provided by Ark and not Krusader. If still relevant this bug report needs to be moved.
Thanks for following up. I have meanwhile upgraded to a fresh installation of Ubuntu Studio 24.04.1 LTS with Krusader 2.8.1 and can no longer reproduce the problem. I have therefore updated the bug status to "RESOLVED" and "FIXED".
