I guess you don't have breeze-icons installed? Or that you have another icon theme set as default?

Kasts currently doesn't force an icon theme on users. So the app will use the icons from the currently set theme. However, that might mean that certain icons are not available in the active theme. In fact, for the gnome theme I know that actually most icons will be missing.

The flatpak version forces the use of the breeze-icon theme. It's possible to do that there, because breeze-icons is always available in the flatpak KDE runtime. Doing the same for the source tarball would create a hard dependency on a breeze-icons package.

What I could do, is try and see if I can set breeze-icons as fallback theme. It should then use the breeze icons in case the current theme doesn't have the requested icon (at least if breeze-icons are installed).

I tested this out on a VM, and it turns out that the app should already fall back to breeze icons as long as the package is installed.
So could you please try installing the breeze-icons package, and then restarting Kasts? That *should* solve the missing icons problem.

Similarly, if you install the qqc2-desktop-style package it should give you a styling which is closer to the intended design.
Since I'm also package maintainer of the kasts package in the AUR, I will add these as optional dependencies.
