Can someone have a look at this thread? Please don't mark this thread as a duplicate and toss it aside.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=427861

It has been sprawling forever and the black desktop/desktop reset (background resets, notes, widgets, etc..) with multiple monitor setups. It is almost impossible to use your desktop for anything as it will either randomly be completely reset (a new container is created in plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc). Literally just get an extra monitor and use KDE with it for a few days/weeks, I'm sure you'll experience the issues many of us are. I'm at a loss as I love KDE, but constantly fighting this issue is slowly driving many away from using KDE.

This bug is still present in 5.25 and though I haven't had a chance to try 5.26, I would think it is also present there as well. Any help is appreciated as it is driving us all nuts to not be able to actually utilize a major components of this desktop environment, along with having to redo things it desides to randomly reset our desktops.

Easy to reproduce the black desktop:

1. Leave your computer idle
2. Let your monitors go to sleep
3. Wake up the system and login
4. You should have now a black desktop on one of your monitors

Desktop reset is random, and can happen either using the steps above, or just randomly on a login to the system. Many many posts in the linked thread should be beneficial to eradicating these issues going forward.

We made a lot of changes in Plasma 5.27 to try to fix the different causes and angles of this issue. Can you please upgrade to Plasma 5.27.4 and try again? Thanks!
