Description Dan Dascalescu 2022-09-22 19:29:47 UTC
Initially I thought this was a Firefox bug and I filed https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1776932, but then I saw the same issue with Brave.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open several Firefox windows
2. In one of them, play a YouTube video
3. Mouse over the taskbar icon in KDE Neon 5.25 (X11)

OBSERVED RESULT
All windows show the same multimedia playback indicator, making it impossible to tell which windows is the source of the audio/sound.

EXPECTED RESULT
Only the window that is actually playing the multimedia content should have its thumbnail/preview changed. The others should keep the preview of the current tab.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
KDE Neon: 5.25.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.97.0
Qt Version: 5.15.5

I can't reproduce this issue. We pushed code specifically to fix it. Maybe it doesn't cover 100% of cases yet though.

Can you try to answer as many of these questions as possible so we can narrow down where the problem is?
1. Can you expand the steps to reproduce to include the actual videos URL?
2. And is the video playing in the active tab when this happens, or an inactive tab?
3. And do you have plasma-browser-integration installed and running?
4. And can you test the Wayland session and see if it works there?
5. And can you test the Plasma 5.26 beta with both X11 and Wayland to see if that makes a difference? Doing this in a VM is fine.

Thanks!
