SUMMARY *** NOTE: If you are reporting a crash, please try to attach a backtrace with debug symbols. See https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Copy coordinates from Google Maps 2. Use Paste Coordinates in Geolocation Editor 3. OBSERVED RESULT Will note paste unless last two significant digits are removed. Would be faster and easier if you supported the full amount of digits Google supplies on copy/paste, even if you discard them internally. EXPECTED RESULT Simple copy/paste from Google Maps location. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: 7.8 macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I can't reproduce the problem here. Tested with Linux and Windows 10, coordinates from Google Maps in Firefox or Chrome copied to the clipboard via the right context menu. Then assigned in digiKam in the Geolocation Editor in the image list using the "Insert coordinates" function. Maik
Well I just tried it again and it worked. Not sure what caused it not to work before and I have been modifying hundreds of entries since. :-( I will go back to direct copy/paste and if I run into the situation again I will post the particular coordinates.
Ok, I'll close the bug for now, if you have a coordinate string that doesn't work post it and open the bug report again. Another tip, you can also assign the coordinates in the Geolocation Editor by drag&drop an image(s) from the image list onto the map. Maik
