Created attachment 152284 [details] Empty Application Launcher When using kmymoney-5.1-179-linux-64-gcc.AppImage the entries in plasma starter disapear after a while. First in "Anwendungen", then even in favourites. *** This was observed on two different machines using Kubuntu 20.04. Result: Not even possible to start aplications by KRunner. KIO-Client application assignments get lost (e.g. open USB memory with file manager). No KIO-Client crash is reported. No time or action was determined, which particularly causes the effect. Effect was never otherwise observed with system nor with other AppImages. Reboot does not fix. In this case Timeshift was used to restore running system. Because of amount of different files, "bad one" could not determined. No corresponding bug was found in database. *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Make sure, you have all your entries in Application Launcher and can start applications from there. 2. Download kmymoney-5.1-179-linux-64-gcc.AppImage from https://binary-factory.kde.org/view/AppImage/job/KMyMoney_Release_appimage-centos7/ 2. Unpack file, make it executable, start appimage 3. Do some actions in KMyMoney, not found out which ones are the "bad ones", e.g. start setup account. 5. Check plasma Application Launcher entries regularly. Check if other apps are found just by typing their names using Application Launcher or KRunner. OBSERVED RESULT No more entries (of apps) in Plasma Application Launcher, first in "Applications", further in "Favourites". EXPECTED RESULT Use of AppImage No influence on entries (of apps) in Plasma Application Launcher. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: Kubuntu 20.04 (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.8 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.68.0 Qt Version: 5.12.8 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 1) I know that there have been changes for AppImage, but unfortunately this is the latest available version (except many failed ones) on the official Jenkins https://binary-factory.kde.org/view/AppImage/job/KMyMoney_Release_appimage-centos7/. Even no later Nightly available.
Have you tried this with any later Appimage? The current builds are failing again, but there have been many good builds in the meantime.
kmymoney-5.1-586-linux-gcc-x86_64.AppImage was successfully built today, so that should be good to test.
(In reply to Jack from comment #2) > kmymoney-5.1-586-linux-gcc-x86_64.AppImage was successfully built today, so > that should be good to test. OK, I'll test in the next days.
