Description Unknown 2022-09-19 20:07:44 UTC
SUMMARY
There was no notification about a new release upgrade (not even after manually refreshing). My dad was telling me he got some error message but it was there to short to see. When I checked it in the command line, I could see that the repositories for "impish" could not be reached any more. After further investigation, I found out that the support ended. There was no notification or anything telling him to upgrade the distribution. I had to manually search to find the website https://help.ubuntu.com/community/JammyUpgrades/Kubuntu#Upgrade. and start the upgrade from the command line.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install
2. Wait for the next distribution release

OBSERVED RESULT
No notification is shown asking to upgrade distribution. Not even after the current distribution is out of support.

EXPECTED RESULT
Get a GUI notification showing that a new version is available and guide the user through the process.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Kubuntu 21.10 -> 22.04

Hello,
this issue is related to downstream Kubuntu implemention, not to KDE itself.

I would suggest to report the issue directly to them in Launchpad.
