The error 0x7b indicates a defective application or library file. Check your hard drive, Uninstall digiKam, Download and install again from www.digikam.org. digiKam-7.8.0 runs without problems on Windows10 here. Maik
Any news on this issue? Did you reinstall digiKam? Maik
Since you write in the private mail that digiKam-7.7.0 is no longer running either, it must be a problem with your Windows system. Which antivirus program are you using? If you like experimenting, you can try our nightly digiKam-8.0.0. The version is compiled with the MSVC compiler and is already signed. https://binary-factory.kde.org/view/Windows%2064-bit/job/Digikam_Nightly_win64/ (file with .exe at end) The following limitations of this version are currently: - no support for HEIF files - a handful of icons from digiKam Tools are missing - ExifTool path must be set in the setup and is located in the digiKam program directory under "bin". Make a backup of your digikam4.db database file in case you later want to revert to an older digiKam version. Maik
Created attachment 152438 [details] attachment-7051-0.html Hi, I am using Norton 360 antivirus program. I have tried disabling the firewall before installing and running digikam but still no difference. I'll try 8.0.0. @ludwigbear@aol.com The digiKam 8.1.0 pre-release, which is a huge bugs triage version have been updated to internal KD5 5.106 framework. Perhaps this will solve your issue. DK 8.1.0 Windows installer is located here : https://files.kde.org/digikam/ Gilles Caulier
@ludwigbear@aol.com, This problem still reproducible with the new digiKam 8.2.0 pre-release Windows installer available at usual place: https://files.kde.org/digikam/ This new bundle is based on last Qt framework 5.15.11 and KDE framework 5.110. Thanks in advance Gilles Caulier
This crash is not reproducible with digiKam compiled under Windows with VCPKG. digiKam 8.2.0 pre-release installer is here : https://files.kde.org/digikam/unstable/ Gilles Caulier
