STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. open Dolphin
2. set icon view mode
3. use the Zoom slider on bottom to set icon size to 128 pixels
4. rename a file to 'V.S01E02.Parte.II.(1983).720P.BRRip.x264.Dual.Áudio.mkv' or create a fake file with this name
via 'Create new > Text file...' option from the context menu of Dolphin
5. deselect the file and select it again

OBSERVED RESULT
as we can see in the attached screenshot, the file extension is not highlighted. The bug disappears when I alt+tab to another window and switch back to Dolphin.

EXPECTED RESULT
files are always properly highlighted when selected

This issue happen when the name overflow (in an unexpected line). To the overflow to happen the text needs to match specific sizes which depend on your font, your file name, your numbers of lines, and your folder zoom level.
No font is needed to produce an name overflow.
Comment 10 Dilam 2024-05-07 08:25:26 UTC
Your just happen to have some files name that produce the bug with this font and not without this font.
This bug is a duplicate of bug 432530.
