SUMMARY *** Since the dependency tree becomes unreadably large for complex projects, it would be nice if it were possible to specify a maximum depth with the dependency-tree option. *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. kdesrc-build --dependency-tree plasma-workspace OBSERVED RESULT huge output EXPECTED RESULT kdesrc-build --dependency-tree=4 plasma-workspace tree with dependencies up to level 4
What if a dependency you need is at depth 5 though? How would this help?
It would help me in that I at least know what parent modules I need, and can query the dependency tree for those if I want to know in more details what this entails. As it is, it's hard to even tell whether dependencies are scattered across the whole project or the thing just depends on one or two big components that I might or might not be missing.
I'm not sure I understand how what you just said relates to what you've requested. Can you explain exactly how you would use the requested feature to accomplish what you want?
