No taskbar preview

SUMMARY
In version 5.20.5-1 in Debian11 with Wayland, the preview of tabs in the taskbar is not shown and apps can't be closed with by clicking Close in the right click context menu.

The apps can only be closed with the X in the upper right (but that often also doesn't work) and by other means (such as opening the window and clicking X in the top right).

The context menu disappears when moving the mouse up after the right click but I can still select and click Close before it disappears. It also quickly disappears when not clicking. Sometimes the preview hides the rightclick context menu and sometimes it doesn't disappear.


STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open an app
2. Hover on its taskbar tab
(3. Right click and select close)

OBSERVED RESULT
No preview and doesn't close when clicking close in the context menu which quickly disappears.

EXPECTED RESULT
A preview is showing and the app closes when clicking close in the context menu which does not disappear until the app is closed or the mouse is moved.

Thank you for the bug report! However Plasma 5.20.5 is no longer supported by KDE; supported versions are 5.24 and 5.25. Your distro is responsible for providing support for older versions of KDE software.

Please do one of the following:
- Upgrade to a supported version (perhaps using Debian Testing) and see if the issue is still relevant
- Report the issue to your distro

- I can only and will upgrade to a much newer version after Debian upgraded to Debian12. Once I did, I will try to check my submitted bugs and update them.  See https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/584892/what-would-be-needed-by-debian-to-ship-newer-versions-of-the-kde-desktop-environ/584903
