In my case, I'm trying to loop a 22 second clip to cover 90 minutes of video 2. Hold the shift key and select multiple (>5) copies of the video clip 3. I cannot reproduce. There was a change in recent Kdenlive versions: now Kdenlive tries to paste the clips where the timeline cursor is, not where the mouse is. Can you check that it is not your problem ? Move the timeline cursor by clicking in an empty zone of the timeline before attempting to paste...
