Right now the Networks page uses a static, unlocalized image of the system tray. The Discover and System Settings pages just use the app icon.

It would be much cooler if these pages could show a picture of the user's actual desktop, using the KWin screenshot API, with the picture centered on the thing we want to highlight (the networks widget, Pinned icons for apps, etc).

Not super feasible since the user's setup may have been customized by themselves or their distro. Currently we're showing mocked versions of these components which, while more maintenance-intensive, is much more flexible and powerful, and has been working out.
