I can't see any problems when I browse a folder with 236 photos. Some questions:

1. When you say "photos missing" are you saying that all files show but some have no thumbnail?
2. If so, what are your settings in Configure=>General=>Previews?
3. Regarding sorting, what do you have under Hamburger=>Sort By?

the files exist but have no thumbnails, only way to access the files is to click the first thumbnail that shows and cycle back using the left arrow key.

Settings under previews are default, sort by name A-Z folders first.

Been going through old hard drives & noticed the issue a week ago. just did a quick test to see why you have no issue & copied a folder to my home directory (whoever owned this drive has issues)the problem only seems to be occurring when accessing an external drive. Also somehow copying the folder somehow fixed the issue (no idea how)

It's not that there's no preview, there's no file whatsoever shown. It literally was skipping 12-364 files, only way to access the files was to click the first file shown which was file 12-364 & backtrack in gwenview.
