SUMMARY
New Win 11 installation of digiKam with Maria DB 10.8
I want to move the location of the data base away from C:\Users\Stuart\Pictures, but it does not save the new location after clicking OK. Database type is set to Mysql Internal.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Settings/Configure/Database
2. Change C:\Users\Stuart\Pictures by clicking Browse button and choosing C:\digiKam
3. Click OK

OBSERVED RESULT
No change. Selecting Settings/Configure/Database shows the location still at C:\Users\Stuart\Pictures

EXPECTED RESULT
Expected to see location at C:\digiKam

macOS:
Linux/KDE Plasma:

Have you adopted the digikamrc configuration from your old Windows installation? If yes, maybe it is not writable for digiKam because the file permissions have changed?

Also consider that with internal MySQL you first have to manually copy the database folder to the new location.

This is a new installation of digiKam as I have not used it before now. I had alread tried your suggestion and copied the folder and subfolders of .mysql.digikam to C:\digiKam. When I went back into digiKam it recreated the databases in C:\Users\Stuart\Pictures\.mysql.digikam
I think the problem is that it is not storing my location change in Settings/Configure/Database.

Base on your mention of digikamrc, I edited it to read "Internal Database Server Path=C:/digiKam" and that worked for me.
Thank you for the quick response!
