SUMMARY *** NOTE: If you are reporting a crash, please try to attach a backtrace with debug symbols. See https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open Elisa 2. Activate Full Screen mode from menu 3. No usual option to exit (just Alt+F3 menu) OBSERVED RESULT Entering Full screen mode from menu has no obvious way back. Full screen mode doesn't have a keyboard shortcut. Common fullscreen toggling key F11 is dedicated for Party mode (which has a GUI element though). EXPECTED RESULT Full screen mode can be toggled by F11. Elisa has no built-in "Enter Full Screen" feature, and you're using the window manage to force its window to do approximate it anyway. So it's up to you to use the same method to get out of it. The bug report tracking adding a real "Enter Full Screen" feature is Bug 429730; marking as a duplicate of that. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 429730 ***
Created attachment 151387 [details] Global Menu includes Go Fullscreen option in Elisa app menu This might be only a GLobal menu thing then - there I have the option in general app menu as indicated (under View)
Ohh, I see what you mean. That's totally inappropriate lol. That action is supposed to enter party mode, not actually enter full screen. Maybe we can support both.
Re-opening since this is about the shortcut now.
Yes, Elisa simply needs a keyboard shortcut for the "Enter Full Screen" menu command.
Looking at version 23.04.2 The application has an "Enter Full Screen" function and an "Exit Full Screen" lifeline button when active. This makes the interface fill the screen, which is similar to what F11 does in many programs such as VLC and Web browsers. However, there is no default "Toggle Full Screen" shortcut, or even the ability to assign one! Meanwhile, F11 is assigned to "Toggle Party Mode", which is a rather different function and quite unexpected. Perhaps we can find a better default shortcut for Party Mode and leave F11 for Full Screen.
