SUMMARY The "keep window above other windows" setting is often ignored. The behaviour is not consistent as the setting is sometimes respected, while other times it is not. I am using a dual-monitor setup, with the screens arranged vertically, on X11. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Set the "keep window above other windows" setting to true 2. ? OBSERVED RESULT Yakuake's window is not kept above the others. EXPECTED RESULT Yakuake's window is always kept above the others. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux: KDE neon KDE Plasma Version: 5.25.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.96.0 Qt Version: 5.15.5 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This bug is also present in my system: SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Yakuake: 22.12.0 Linux: Manjaro KDE Plasma Version: 5.26.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.101.0 Qt Version: 5.15.7 Graphics Platform: Wayland (Riccardo reported this bug for X11)
I can't get this setting to work for me at all. The only way I can get the window to stay on-top is by using the KWin action "Keep Window Above Others", but that only works until Yakuake is hidden. Once I expand it again, it is not on top of any window anymore. Yakuake 24.02.1 KDE Plasma 6.0.3 Qt 6.6.2 Wayland
I am having the same issue. I use 3 monitors on wayland, and yakuake does not stay above windows on any monitor
