SUMMARY *** When trying to save with Ogg Vorbis or MP3 format, an error occurs. But it's not the case with Flac or Wav formats. *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Create a new file 2. Record a track 3. Choose "Save as", then Filter = MP3 audio or Ogg audio 4. Finally proceed. OBSERVED RESULT A popup Window says : "An error occurred while calling the external encoder '' for MP3 format, or "One or more encoding parameters are not supported. Please change the settings and try again." for Ogg format. EXPECTED RESULT There is no problem with FLAC or WAVE format. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: Linux 5.19.1-arch2-1 (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.25.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.96.0 Qt Version: 5.15.5 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Packages "lame 3.100-4" and "livogg 1.3.5-1" are already installed.
Both work for me. If you run Kwave from a terminal, do you see any warnings in the output? In Settings > MP3 Encoder Setup, if you press 'Auto Detect...', does it find Lame? What settings give the error with ogg? Sample rate, sample size, tracks, compression, and encoding mode. Have you tried changing the settings to see if anything works for you?
