STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Sketch with 'c) pencil-2', 'smudge soft', and 'b) Eraser Small' in a 3GB Krita file with at least 29 layers for up to eight hours using a Samsung stylus pen (NOT the S-pen Pro) on a GalaxyBook Pro 360. Integrate the following steps while drawing.
2. Switch between normal blending mode and erase blending mode often. Also switch between layers often. Sometimes try using the stylus button to function as an eraser. The stylus button will take a long time to switch to an eraser brush, if it does.
3. Zoom in and out often on the canvas with touch input using two fingers to pinch and pull. Then try drawing on the canvas often after zooming in or out.

OBSERVED RESULT
The canvas eventually will not show any new drawing strokes. It will also not zoom in or out visibly on the canvas. It will show that the zoom percentage is changing in the black popup, but nothing will happen to the canvas. The menu and dockers will still respond as normal. If a new file is opened, the canvas will still not display changes. Only after restarting Krita, will the canvas function normally again for a time.

EXPECTED RESULT
The canvas will continue to display new drawing strokes for as long as you use Krita without having to restart the program. The canvas will visibly zoom in and out using a two finger pinch and pull touch gensture for as long as Krita is used without needing to restart the program.

Hi,

What I am seeing in the usage log you shared is that Krita is running out of memory and the problems you describe are consistent with that. You can tell when this happens, because the resolution info in the status bar at the bottom will have turned red (it tries to show how much memory is being consumed, and turns red when it's over 80~%).

My recommendation would be that you first try to increase the amount of memory Krita is allowed to use in settings -> configure Krita -> Performance. I'd recommend setting it to 80% maximum, so that you still may be able to run other applications like a music player or chat program. Lowering the amount of undo steps can also help. If you keep having memory troubles despite this, it might be time to accept that the kind of artworks you're making are just too big for what your computer can handle, and start working smaller or with fewer layers.
