Cannot reproduce with current git master, but it sounds like plasmashell crashed for you. Can you attach a backtrace of the crash? See https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports#Retrieving_a_backtrace_using_coredumpctl

The bug is confirmed for me, Plasma desktop crashes when using Right click (on Panel) > Add Widget command
Comment 5 Nate Graham 2022-08-26 09:58:54 UTC
Can you attach a backtrace of the crash please? I can't reproduce the issue myself, so the bug report isn't actionable unless we can see a backtrace of the crash so we can try to figure out what happened.

I add also a screenshot after the crash. The strange thing is that I can still run programs, save or add files, etc. It seems that only Plasma desktop crashes.
I do not know which other tests I could perform in order to help you.

Result of coredump cmd

Hi, I followed the instructions and retrieved the attached infos. Hope they are useful. If other tests are needed, please tell me.
Comment 9 Nate Graham 2022-08-30 15:48:12 UTC
Thanks, that's helpful. Based on my reading of the backtrace, it looks like this has already been fixed by https://invent.kde.org/plasma/plasma-workspace/-/merge_requests/2039 which will be in Plasma 5.26.
