So when I shut down or restart my system while a offline vault is open, the vault is closed when the computer is started the next time but the computer is still offline. It is easy to fix that by reopening a offline vault and closing it. However, if one does not remember that it was due to an offline vault, it is difficult to fix (I forgot that it was due to that last time, spending a whole day trying different things which did not work). STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. open a offline vault 2. reboot the computer (without closing the vault) OBSERVED RESULT The computer is (still) disconnected from the internet after the reboot, eventhough the vault is closed. EXPECTED RESULT The computer behaves as normal, with access to internet and all. Yes, this happens because it is not Vault that closes the mount, but the system shutdown. Fixing this would require Vault to store the 'network is disabled due to Vault' somewhere on the drive - to know that it should enable the network on next boot.
This affected me too, but now, after updating to Kubuntu 24.04.3 LTS there is a different behaviour: Now the widget (and the dolphin-entry of the vault) doens't represent the status of the tresore. Even if the vault has been opened there is no switch/button/context-menue-entry for closing it. Also a rebooting of the machine doesn't change the status of the vault: it stays open and the network-connection isn't deactivated. Confirmed on KDE Plasma 6.7.3. The bug seems to "work" either when a computer is powered off or a reboot is done. Maybe the bug can be fixed by enabling the Internet/Bluetooth connection just after the drive is unmounted during the power off procedure? Also, I think that the bug can be applicable to Bluetooth, but cannot verify it.

Allow networking to be restored when offline vault was not closed before shutdown Networking was not enabled again when an offline vault was in use when the computer was shut down. This commit fixes that by allowing Plasma Vault to store the networking status in plasmavaultrc (option is-networking-inhibited). When it's set to false (which happens when a vault is opened), then applet automatically restores it via the NetworkManager::setNetworkingEnabled() function.
