it works once pressed. but cannot do the same operation back again. Also, when this feature is active, the eye icon on the layer does not appear blue.

Hey, I independently stumbled upon this while testing today and recorded a short video of the behaviour and the possible workaround.

Tested this in krita-x64-5.3.0-prealpha-88295ba7 aswell as in 5.2.9. Still the same behaviour as originally reported.
