I selected "reference images" tool, but also this also happens with the regular "copy & paste", something I use a lot as well, maybe much more than that mentioned tool. If you thought that adding a dialog box that asks you "Do you want to download the image at" would be a good idea, I have to tell you, with all due respect, that this was a terrible idea: And to top it off, the NO button is preset. If you use the keyboard with its shortcuts (like me) it's not enough just pressing enter, but you also have to use the arrow keys to select YES. Maybe you did this, because you thought that "downloading an image takes time and space, and you wanted the user to be aware of that". But I'm afraid to tell you that this doesn't make sense, since the user knows perfectly well that she wants to download the image, every time he copies and pastes. And I think this is a big deal, for two reasons: 1-I am a person who uses a lot of reference images, especially because I'm learning to draw. And you know how important it is to use a lot of reference images, otherwise you wouldn't have created a specific tool related to it. 2-Adding that picture is completely against the spirit of Krita. Both the Pop-Up Pallete and the recent multiple fill tool, were made to save artists time and have an intuitive experience. And that dialog box is not intuitive or time saving at all. And if you really think not adding this dialogue box can "actually" harm the artist, then at least on: General settings> Miscalleaneous > "When pasting into Krita from other applications". Add a checkbox that says: "Ask if you want to download the image", and that's it, that way the user won't get bothered. I personally don't mind at all having to wait a few seconds for the image to download. Honestly it bothers me much more that I can't cancel the process of the loading bar at the bottom right, after selecting the canvas with the Fill tool by accident. But that's another story I'll tell you in another report. Sorry if I seemed tough, but believe or not, I say all this because I love the app very much, I think you are heroes, I respect you are creating something that helps thousands of artists around the world with your talent and dedication, please don't throw it away with dumb decisions like this.
Sorry, but shouting and posting a rambling wall of text is not a good way of asking for our time.
Created attachment 151186 [details] attachment-14445-0.html I made a big mistake. I really love Krita and want to see it thrive, but I was wrong not to control my frustration. I promise I won't do this again. I just hope that, despite my wrong behaviour, I was able to help a little. But I apologize. Wish you good luck! @Alejandro In 5.1.0 there will be settings in Configure Krita -> General -> Miscellaneous with the Paste settings, in which you can disable the window and just use the same settings every time, if you want. It's already in Krita 5.1.0-RC1.
Created attachment 151264 [details] attachment-2055-0.html In short: You solved my problem, thank you! But I also found some bugs and different behaviours between Firefox and Chrome in the process. Explanation: I understand, when you use Krita for the first time, it asks you three options of how you want to paste the image. But, in Chrome, when you choose one of the first two options, Krita asks you "if you want to download the image", something that doesn't happen in Firefox. However, I realized that if you choose "paste the attached sRGB bitmap" Krita doesn't ask you anymore (even in Chrome) when you paste from "Edit" or shortcuts, which is great! Nonetheless, if you drag and drop from Chrome (not from Firefox), it doesn't save the "paste settings" you chose, I mean, it Krita pastes it as if you wanted to download the original image, and not as "attached sRGB bitmap". Despite that, I thank you very much for your help, pasting from the attached bitmap solves my problem and saves time! Finally, I want to apologize again for the first message. I saw many softwares and sites being ruined by bad updates, and I didn't want the same thing to happen to Krita, especially with the amazing tools it has. I just want to let you know I wasn't angry with you, but with the issue itself. In fact, even in the first message I said you are heroes who helped thousands of artists with your talent and dedication. Don't stop doing so, good luck! And thanks for the second chance!
