Discover does not show VLC though it is installed on the system

SUMMARY
Among the KDE applications, deb packages of Firefox and VLC come pre-installed on KDE Neon.

But apparently the Discover in KDE Neon is configured not to show non-KDE deb packages; that means that users can't uninstall those packages via Discover. This is confusing especially for users who are not very familiar with Linux.

Firefox deb is going to be replaced with Snap soon anyway, so it's basically about VLC.
It could be replaced by Snap or Flatpak of the same application, or a KDE application such as Dragon Player.

Plus, I think it's nice to have a disclaimer somewhere, such as on the website or on a welcome pop-up on the first boot, that the Discover on Neon is not supposed to be used to install non-KDE deb packages. Should I file another ticket for this?

Thank you.

After the update VLC started to show itself up in Discover, so this could be marked as resolved. Thank you for your hard work on this product!

Can I understand that this update has made the Discover in Neon show all the applications listed on Appstream? Or, are there some applications still being blacklisted?

I don't think anything changed on the Neon side here; re-opening.

I expect this is related to the update of appstream libraries which we did this week

Apperently the fix for bug 453571 also fixed the problem of pre-installed VLC not showing up in Discover. And apperently the problem I reported in the comment on the bug report (bug 453571) is not related to Neon or Discover, but related to Appstream. Sorry for the confused comments of mine.
