Description AmberKat 2022-08-03 18:38:49 UTC
SUMMARY
***
i put an mp3 file into krita. i select frame 0. the audio and drawings i have are synced to the timeline. when i select a frame other than frame 0 and then start from there, the audio also starts there instead of continuing from the middle, where it should continue from. this issue is not present with keyframes, they stay in sync with the timeline. this issue is *only* with audio.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. open krita and import any mp3 file
2. make some keyframes with drawings
3. select any frame other than frame 0, and hit play

OBSERVED RESULT
the audio starts from the beginning no matter what frame i am on

EXPECTED RESULT
the audio starts at frame 0, and continues from the middle when selecting a frame other than frame 0

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: windows 10

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
animations are my career and the only way to get actual finished animations is with krita, and having to press play from frame 0 and then finding the frame i want to draw on is a tedious and long process, i very much wish that i could press play on *any* frame and have the audio synced so that the process is faster. i already tried a question on krita-artists.org and none of their suggestions worked, like updating to newest version.

Hi AmberKat,

This is related to another set of bugs. The Audio System is currently being rewritten to fix these plethora of issues.

For now, I'm closing this bug as a duplicate since it is currently on our radar.

Thanks for taking the time to file a bug report!

(In reply to Eoin O'Neill from comment #1)
well, my bug isn't that the audio is jumping all over the place, or corrupting in volume or whatever, it simply starts on the wrong frame whenever i don't select frame 0. the title says what the bug actually is, and there is no fix described in that bug report- not that it would be the right fix, cuz it's not the same bug as this- so, that bug report is useless to me.
