Dear upstream, kjs uses the obsolete and now unsupported pcre library and it would be better to switch to the pcre2 implementation that is actively maintained and has been around for some years now. Debian has started the process of retiring the old pcre implementation (libpcre3-dev package) and ideally we would like to remove it from the next Debian stable release. The Debian bug report can be found here: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1000112 Thanks, -- Aurélien
Hi, Some distributions now started to drop old/obsolete pcre library like us Mageia Linux, so I think it is time now to port kjs to pcre2. Regards David
KJS was already in pure maintenance mode in kf5, for kf6 it got removed, there will be no future work spend on this beside critical security issues, if at all.
