Assume the following display setup: 1. Laptop with 1366x768 LCD 2. TV connected using HDMI at 1280x720 3. mpv running full-screen on the TV Attempting to set the TV resolution to 1920x1080 results in nothing happening, though Display Configuration appears to have been successful. Un-fullscreening mpv and trying this again works without any issues. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Run mpv fullscreen on the second monitor. 2. Use Display Configuration to change the second monitor's display resolution. OBSERVED RESULT Nothing happens, though Display Configuration acts like it was successful. EXPECTED RESULT Second monitor should change resolution. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux: Kernel 5.18.10 KDE Plasma Version: 5.25.3 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.96.0 Qt Version: 5.15.5 Not sure if this is Wayland-specific or if it happens on X11 as well.
Additional data point: If I switch to a different virtual desktop (assuming mpv isn't set to "all desktops") and then try to change the second monitor's resolution, it *does* work.
Works fine here. If you put KWIN_DRM_NO_DIRECT_SCANOUT=1 into /etc/environment, does that make it work for you as well?
