SUMMARY *** When emptying the Wastebin via the context menu in Dolphins Left hand panel there are no longer any sound notifications played. If you open the Wastebin and right click in its "main window" to empty the bin the sound notifications works fine. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Right click on Left panel Wastebin Icon to bring up the context menu and Empty it. OBSERVED RESULT No sound notifications EXPECTED RESULT Sound should play when warning and emptying the Bin. This used to work fine but broke a few releases ago. OK, as a test I just rolled back Dolphin* to 21.12.3 and the sound notifications work as they should.
**Update** New hardware and a fresh install of F37 which is fully updated, KDE Plasma from zawertun's COPR. The trash sounds now *only* work if you open the Wastebin and right click in its "main window" in Dolphin to empty the Wastebin, the sound notifications (warning and empty) work fine. I am not sure if Dolphin is the correct product to report against, maybe kio? The visual pop ups work fine in all cases. Are you sure it's only the wastebin? I have no sound on Dolphin either when I am deleting a file or folder. System sounds (Oxygen) work as expected outside of Dolphin. To be honest I never thought about other notifications in Dolphin and cannot see anything in System Settings > Notifications > Plasma Workspace to set/test FWIW KDE Gear 23.04.0-1
On openSuse Tumbleweed, this error was introduced between snapshot 20230422 (Plasma 5.27.4, KF 5.105, Qt 5.15.8, Apps 22.12.3) and 20230430 (Plasma 5.27.4, KF 5.105, Qt 5.15.9, Apps 23.04.0). KDE sounds work fine otherwise, but if you want to throw a file into the trash in Dolphin, the confirmation dialogue comes up without the usual notification sound. Maybe that helps tracing this regression.
Hm. I noticed this as well, but I also noticed there's no sound if you put the trash icon on the desktop and empty it as well.

Some improvement with KDE 6.0 beta 2, in that as far as I have tested, the only Trash sound that does not work is when the Bin is being emptied. The confirmation sound now works again.
