Description Ilya Bizyaev 2022-07-10 16:54:39 UTC
When I restart plasmashell (to mitigate one of the other bugs or a memory leak), I can no longer use keyboard at all in the new Present Windows effect. Before 5.25.0, this has not been a problem.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Restart plasmashell
2. Trigger the Present Windows effect with a screen corner or a keyboard shortcut
3. Try typing, pressing Ctrl-F or the arrow keys

OBSERVED RESULT
Nothing happens, cannot even select the search field with the mouse; only selecting windows with a mouse click is possible.

EXPECTED RESULT
The effect behaves as usual.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: openSUSE Leap 15.4
KDE Plasma Version: 5.25.2
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.95.0
Qt Version: 5.15.5
Graphics Platform: X11
Graphics Processor: Mesa Intel® UHD Graphics

Cannot reproduce on Wayland; probably there's some residual issue with the X11-specific input handling code.
Comment 2 Niklas Stephanblome 2022-07-29 05:48:04 UTC
Cannot reproduce on X11 either. What command are you using to restart the plasmashell? And does it affect the Overview effect too?

I cannot reproduce this reliably, so I'll close the report for now.
