STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Start VLC
2. Open the menu: File --> Recently opened
3. Hover the cursor, while the jumping "busy cursor" occurs over the "Recently opened" submenu

OBSERVED RESULT
In the area where the "busy cursor" jumps, the background becomes lighter. Please see the screenshot.

Can reproduce it also in Speedcrunch 0.12 and Konsole 23.04.2 on Tumbleweed with Plasma 5.27.6 Wayland.
