Description Marco 2022-07-03 09:57:21 UTC
SUMMARY
When searching for files (that are properly indexed by baloo) starting from the Downloads folder, dolphin does not show any results. But searching for the same files, by starting the search in dolphin from the home directory shows the files.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open dolphin
2. navigate to the Downloads folder
3. search for a file in that directory

OBSERVED RESULT

No result is shown

EXPECTED RESULT

Files in the Downloads folder matching the search should appear in dolphin

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

Linux/KDE Plasma: Fedora 36
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.25.2
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.95.0
Qt Version:

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Baloo is configured to index the whole content of the home directory. Indeed, searching files starting from any other subdirectory of the home shows the files in that directory that match the query. Only the downloads directory seems to behave weirdly.
Comment 1 Nate Graham 2022-07-05 18:50:09 UTC
does `baloosearch [the filename]` in a terminal window work?
Comment 2 Marco 2022-07-07 19:41:13 UTC
Yes, it does. I can search for that file using the baloo commandline tool.
Comment 3 Marco 2022-07-07 19:43:08 UTC
Let me clarify that this happens with other files too, but other files are searchable. The only thing in common these unsearchable files have is that they have quite long file names.
