Issue is with Plasma Task Manager ( https://userbase.kde.org/Plasma/Tasks ) (didn't find it in "component" menu while creating the report) After today's arch update noticed a big difference in behaviour. Icons are big/middle by default without any way of changing it. They do shrink when panel gets full. Previously had small size even if panel was not full. See https://imgur.com/a/atVBdAq Notes: I have side panel is in vertical position. Icon's size makes text move right and hide part of it. My display is touch screen. I believe there was a way of setting icon size before. Don't see it now, but i'm not sure if i'm not making stuff up. Previous version without such behaviour was released in arch's repos from beginning-middle of June. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Attach standard panel to the right side 2. Make panel's size 92px (in my case with 1080p screen) 3. Open some windows 4. See no way to make icons size change OBSERVED RESULT, EXPECTED RESULT: https://imgur.com/a/atVBdAq SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) Arch Linux, Kernel Version: 5.18.7-arch1.1 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: X11 KDE Plasma Version: 5.25.2 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.95.0 Qt Version: 5.15.5
I'm afraid I have to report that this was an intentional change in Plasma 5.25. Now, the way you reduce the size of your Task Manager icons is by reducing the thickness of your Panel. There is no longer an option to have a thick Panel with small Task Manager icons, sorry. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 456076 ***
