SUMMARY
On Wayland, during the overview effect, it's possible to switch to different desktops/workspaces using shortcuts, like ctrl + f2 to go to second desktop. On X11 on the other hand, no shortcut to switch desktops work. This makes it impossible to (while on overview) show the windows from a different desktop, requiring the user to exit the effect, switch the desktop, then enter it again.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Login with X11
2. Enter new overview effect
3. Try to switch/change the desktop (while on overview effect)

OBSERVED RESULT
Shortcuts don't work

Shortcuts should work

Can confirm. Possibly caused by Bug 447840.
