Created attachment 150209 [details] Demonstration of the phenomenon SUMMARY *** NOTE: If you are reporting a crash, please try to attach a backtrace with debug symbols. See https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports *** Sometimes, after closing a program, its window will remain stuck in the desktop with some transparency, as if it wasn't fully closed. It's not functional and you can't interact with the program. Curiously, if you try to, for example, click and drag on your wallpaper, the effect created by the cursor goes "behind" the window. Pressing "Show Desktop" or entering edit mode also hides the window temporarily. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Unfortunately, I have seen this happening a few times, but I don't have steps to reproduce it. Seems to be non-deterministic. :( I remember this used to happen a lot in the past, then for some time I didn't observe this behavior, but now it happened again. OBSERVED RESULT There will be no stuck transparent window on my desktop when closing a window. EXPECTED RESULT The window completely disappears. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Arch Linux, kernel version 5.18.6-arch1-1 (64-bit) KDE Plasma Version: 5.25.1 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.95.0 Qt Version: 5.15.5 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION None
Can you upgrade to 5.25.2 and see if it's fixed?
I've just upgraded, I will continue using it and report if I experience the issue again.
I confirm the bug is still present. Got a stuck Discord window this time.

Thanks. Sorry to hear that it's still happening. Are you using X11 or Wayland?
I'm currently using X11. But I don't mind switching to Wayland and testing it there as well.
I have this issue with Fedora KDE on Wayland, with Intel graphics. It usually happens when I'm moving a window and it disappears as I'm moving it, and a transparent version of it gets stuck on the desktop. Operating System: Fedora Linux 36 KDE Plasma Version: 5.25.3 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.96.0 Qt Version: 5.15.3 Kernel Version: 5.18.11-200.fc36.x86_64 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 4 × Intel® Core™ i5-7300U CPU @ 2.60GHz Memory: 7.5 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: Mesa Intel® HD Graphics 620 System Version: ThinkPad T580
this no longer happens for me
Yeah, I also haven't seen this bug again. Thanks to everyone who was involved in fixing this.
