I see what is your problem, it's not a bug (I'll turn the ticket to "Not a bug" after this message). You activated the option "Limit the assistants to area" in the tool option, and then you traced the area oustide of your parralal asistant line (under according to your screenshot). I attached a video so you can see how to work with the rectangular area and parrallal assistant. Thanks for the report. Closing.
