The 22.04.2 Flatpak renders poor quality / pixelated video using the MP4 format. I've tried other formats as well but they're all blurry/pixelated as well. *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Enter video into Kdenlive 2. Edit video accordingly 3. Select to render using MP4 (under generic HD Web) OBSERVED RESULT 1. The video renders but is blurry and pixelated EXPECTED RESULT SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS: Linux: Kubuntu 20.04.4 LTS KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.8 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.68.0 Qt Version: 5.13.0-51 OS: 64 bit Second Linux Distro Tested Linux: PopOS 22.04 LTS OS: 64 bit ADDITIONAL INFORMATION The Kdenlive 22.04.2 flatpak was tested on 2 different laptops; one of them with two different distributions and I found them to have the same result: poor pixelated video quality
Thanks for this useful report! This is probably related to the "Custom Quality" option in the "More Options" of the render dialog wrongly enabled by default. Disabling it should workaround the problem temporarily. In 22.04.3 (release within the next days) this will be fixed. Feel free to reopen this report if it still happens with 22.04.3
Created attachment 150955 [details] attachment-15532-0.html Julius, Thank you. I have not tried it as of yet. But will definitely report if there's an issue. I have reported a bug on Kdenlive on Fedora 36 which makes the application unusable.
