Created attachment 149684 [details] windows 11 context menu You must create GUI for customize context menu. It will be wonderful features. I mean, not only functionally and style. Look at windows 11 it is bad example, but look at this horizontal icon. It is very comfortable and beautiful. We use context menu all the time and need more features and customize. I want it more than anything in the world. Sorry to write here, but I didn't find where to send a suggestion for improvement. EXPECTED RESULT SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
We evaluated this when Windows 11 was released, but ultimately decided against it because icons-only buttons generally have bad usability and we are trying to reduce our usage of them, not expand it. See also https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Design/Lessons_Learned#Copying_other_platforms
But you can provide an opportunity for customization so that the user decides whether he wants to see the icons or not. It is Linux, isn't it?
I know, i can add new option in context menu, but I can't remove text from icon or make the icons grid
I'm tired of the screen-long list in the context menu, I want to remove the default functions into small icons with a grid
I suggest not just adding default icons, but a complete GUI application for detailed customization. I believe that every second person wonders how to change the items in the context menu and he has to climb into the settings and this breaks the user experience. Also, so that you can quickly assign an icon and an action when clicking on the icon, just like you did with file associations. So that you can combine any command with an icon and use it conveniently. I assure you this app will be a celebration for the KDE community.

You can use the taskbar with icons only, or with icons and text.
I don't think it's something we can support here, sorry. The amount of effort that would need to be expended to implement it in a reasonably bug-free way would be better spent elsewhere, especially considering the reward--very little, considering that we already decided that doubling down on more icons-only buttons is not going to provide better usability and not something we generally want to move towards.

It's a pity, it means that it will use the context menu in the entire height of the screen and change the settings in the files every time
Just look how many questions on this topic or ask the community if we need this GUI for customization
