Description Rittika Mallik 2022-06-04 23:19:28 UTC
SUMMARY
I am using a Dell XPS laptop with an OLED display. When I use the keyboard brightness keys to reduce the brightness, the brightness falls to 0 and turns off the screen. Turning up the brightness does not turn on the screen. I cannot turn up the brightness again through the increase brightness button on the keyboard. I have to close the lid and open it again, only then do I get back the display. This bug is not present in GDM.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Turn down the brightness to zero from the laptop keyboard 'decrease brightness' button.
2. Brightness turns zero and shuts off the screen.
3. Pressed the increase brightness button

OBSERVED RESULT
The display brightness does not increase, the screen stays off.

EXPECTED RESULT
The screen brightness should increase when the 'increase brightness' button is pressed on the keyboard.
