Often when I connect my external display plasmashell crashes and cannot be reloaded. When attempting to run it from terminal I get the following error: kf.plasma.quick: Applet preload policy set to 1 qt.qpa.wayland: Wayland does not support QWindow::requestActivate() qml: PlasmaExtras.ScrollArea is deprecated. Use PlasmaComponents3.ScrollView instead. qt.qpa.wayland: Wayland does not support QWindow::requestActivate() qt.qpa.wayland: Wayland does not support QWindow::requestActivate() org.kde.UserFeedback: failed to probe user feedback submission interface: "Host telemetry.kde.org not found" "" The Wayland connection broke. Did the Wayland compositor die? If I disconnect the external display plasmashell starts up again. If I reconnect the external display it crashes with the same error. The display configuration kcm also will not load when this bug is present.
I assume you're on Wayland, right? If something crashed, we need a backtrace. If you're on Wayland, please use `coredumpctl` to get us a backtrace of the kwin_wayland crash; see https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports#Retrieving_a_backtrace_using_coredumpctl. If you can't find any kwin_wayland crashes, or if yo're actually on X11, please get us the plasmashell crash backtrace. Thanks!
