Description Rafael Linux User 2022-06-03 09:57:23 UTC
SUMMARY
Scenario: OpenSUSE Tumbleweed, with 2 monitors (4K monitor and 1024 pixels width monitor).
Since I installed my 4K monitor (primary monitor) that replaced my FHD previous monitor (primary monitor too) Plasma let me drag from primary monitor to secondary monitor but don't drop the objects dragged. For example, I can have one Dolphin window opened in each monitor. If I try to drag and drop a file from Dolphin showed in primary monitor to Dolphin in secondary monitor, the file is not dropped!!! (mouse pointer changes to "prohibited" icon). I discovered this issue when, as I usually do, I drag a mp3 file to my music player on secondary monitor.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Drag a file from 4K monitor
2. Drop it to second monitor

OBSERVED RESULT
Plasma don't let to drop the file

EXPECTED RESULT
To drop the file as always

Just from Dolphin to the music player app? Can you drop something from Dolphin to the desktop on the other screen?
Comment 2 Rafael Linux User 2022-06-04 23:54:54 UTC
I can drop from secondary monitor to primary monitor (4K) but not vice versa.

I can't add more info is no one ask me more about. I think issue is related to dpi and magnification. I had about 140% magnification applied, but Plasma don't let apply magnification independently in each monitor, so second monitor icons and content is enormous.

Unfortunately, Wayland is not working in my PC. Everytime I try to boot with Wayland, screen is black and only show an underscore in top left corner. I think is Nvidia driver related, I read in Internet.

On X11 kwin is not involved in D&D. There is nothing we can do, sorry.

I only want to give you thanks. I think it was effectively NOT a bug, but some kind of specific behaviour on a shared (NFS) folder.
I think this bug can even be REMOVED to not cause confusion.
