The problem is not completely solved.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

Manually lock the screen
then
you get the screen saver
then
type a key
then
you get the login screen and the password field is empty
then
type "Esc"
then
you get the screen saver
then
type a key
then
you get the login screen and the character is registered in the password field

Fixed already in the final 5.25 release.
