SUMMARY The ~/Downloads folder is unlike every other folder displayed in Dolphin - when sorted by Name groups files into sections by alphabet (A, B, C, ... 0-9) - when sorted by Date groupy by (Today, $weekdays, $earlier-on, $Month-Year, $Month-Year, ...) - when sorted by size (Small, Medium, Big, ...) Not trying to bash this mode for those that enjoy it, but I find this mode unintuitive and hard to find the files I'm looking for. It confuses my eyes and my existing experience using the file manager for everything else. My googling suggests there used to be a way to turn it off with unchecking a "Show by group" box (e.g. https://www.reddit.com/r/kde/comments/fa31cy/how_do_i_get_dolphin_to_treat_downloads_as_a/) but I can't find this anywhere. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open Dolphin 2. Click "Downloads" 3. Click any view mode (icons, list, details) to see the files grouped by sort category 4. Click hamburger menu and look for a way to turn off grouping OBSERVED RESULT No way to turn off grouping EXPECTED RESULT Should be a way to turn off grouping SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux: Arch Linux 5.17.7 KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.94.0 Qt Version: 5.15.4 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION n/a
Created attachment 149328 [details] screenshot showing Show in Groups The option to turn grouping on and off is a bit difficult to find. It should be under: Hamburger Menu=>More=>View=>Show in Groups See attached screenshot Do you have that?
Ah, thanks I found it now! Somehow I thought I looked everywhere but seemed to have missed "More" at the bottom.
