Description Matej Starc 2022-05-29 06:19:09 UTC
SUMMARY
Plasma shell crashes because of panels. When I logged in into plasma wayland session, I noticed that my widgets were all stacked to the left side (see additional information), and then the screen went black for a second and the shell restarted. This went on even after reboot, until I removed both panels.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
This happened to be after reboot, so my best bet would be to use this release version, use the default panel and reboot.

OBSERVED RESULT
Plasmashell restarts until panels are removed.

Does the problem goes away if you remove all the application icons from the panel?

Might be due to bug 454105 but it wasn't crashing plasmashell for anyone.

This problem only occurred to me twice (the first time, after that I rebooted, and it happened again. I fixed it by removing the panels). I haven't been able to reproduce the issue since.

Plasmashell crashing was only my guess because of how it behaved. It's also, as you said, that bug is responsible for my issue here.
