When performing a search for files or folders the context menu entry "Create new" is disabled.
This affects all tabs open at the moment of search.
The error cannot be resolved by restarting, thus it's somewhat persistent.

WORKAROUNDS
- open a new tab
- go back and forth in any tab already open

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Press 'ctrl-f' and enter any search term
2. Start the search with 'enter'
3. Open the context menu via right click in any folder
4. Notice the disabled entry 'Create new' ('F10' shortcut also not working anywhere)

OBSERVED RESULT
Cannot create new files.

EXPECTED RESULT
Creating new files working fine in all tabs except the search results.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Can confirm. While at least one tab is showing search results from baloosearch:, the Create New action is disabled globally, not just in the search tab. Closing the search tab or the search UI re-enables it globally.

I am not sure this represents a bug: search results are by definition read only, they are not a file disk list.
Comment 3 Nate Graham 2023-04-01 16:46:45 UTC
The issue is that the action is disabled in tabs *not* showing search results. Re-opening.
