Description David Chmelik 2022-05-19 05:34:40 UTC
SUMMARY
Can't use Google Drive. (no longer allowed because of authentication)

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Login to Google Drive in Dolphin
2. See errors/emails from Google w/link.
3. Go to link and tell Google 'it was me.'

OBSERVED RESULT
'This app tried to access sensitive info in your Google Account. To keep your account safe, Google blocked this access.' Got Google security alert email w/link, went to link, selected 'it was me.' They ignore it (because probably not using new authentication method) so Dolphin is still blocked.

EXPECTED RESULT
Login with Google's new authentication.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Slackware64 15.1-current / 5.24.5
KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.94.0
Qt Version: 5.15.3

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This now affects any/all KDE programs (KOrganizer, etc.) that login to Google.

Please make sure you are using kio-drive compiled with the KAccounts backend.

How can I find out? Will it be in KDE Plasma 5 (KDEP5, KDE5) or only 6?

It's already in the current kio-gdrive release and it's the default backend. So you should ask your distribution whether they have explicitly disabled the KAccounts backend.
