Also if the tray icon merge request is denied then I think the option to keep elisa running in the background should be seperate. The Media Player applet already shows album art and looks pretty and it should be fully compatible with Elisa. If you want only one icon for media stuff in your System Tray, you should simply disable Elisa's System Tray icon (or not enable it, since IIRC it's disabled by default) and minimize Elisa's main window when you want music to be playing in the background. The existing tools for this are good enough IMO. :)
