Currently it is possible to add files to the dock much like it is on plasma panels. However, it requires surgical precision when I want to simply drag a file to the Trash bin when it is a plasmoid on the dock. Latte gives an option to drag that file onto the dock. But if I don't want that file on the dock but only on the trash bin, I would have to enter edit mode to then remove the file from the dock and try again. While, yes, I could just press the Delete button or do it from the context menu, an option to disable dragging files to the dock could be useful to have. It would not affect dragging application launchers to the tasks area, only files to the dock.
