Download DebugView from Microsoft, set the Qt-Debug environment variable in the Windows environment variable editor and post the log as described here for Windows: https://www.digikam.org/contribute/ What type of database are they using (SQLite or MySQL/MariaDB). Maik
Created attachment 148879 [details] MESH-PC debugview.LOG Hi Maik, This all looks a bit too techie for me, but I have attached the debug file which I have produced. Is this what you want? Apparently I'm using a SQLite database! Thanks for your amazingly speedy reply. Fantastically impressive. The log contains nothing from digiKam. You first start DebugView and let it run. Then start digiKam and try to open an image. Close digiKam and then upload the DebugView log here. Maik
Created attachment 148881 [details] MESH-PC debugview.LOG Hi Maik again, After spending a couple of hours this morning trying to find the problem, it has suddenly started displaying the thumbnails correctly, if a little slowly. Anyway, I attach the debug file again and hope this will be of interest. Again, thank you for such a brilliantly quick response to my query. You probably didn't set the environment variable correctly, just showing a few warnings. Also check whether you have activated internal debugging in the digiKam settings under Miscellaneous-> System. Maik
@gandanorton@gmail.com digiKam 8.0.0 is released. This file still valid ? Gilles Caulier
@gandanorton@gmail.com, This problem still reproducible with the new digiKam 8.2.0 pre-release Windows installer available at usual place: https://files.kde.org/digikam/ This new bundle is based on last Qt framework 5.15.11 and KDE framework 5.110. Thanks in advance Gilles Caulier
Problem is not reproducible with a large collection of albums using Sqlite database, with the VCPKG version of the Windows install 8.2.0 pre-release available here : https://files.kde.org/digikam/ Gilles Caulier
