SUMMARY
Using Gwenview to open a jxl (JpegXL) image gives the error "Loading "test.jxl" failed Gwenview cannot display".
I am using Gwenview built into KDE Neon 5.24.5 that has KDE Frameworks Version 5.93.0 which to my understanding has support for jxl images.


STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open jxl file in Gwenview

OBSERVED RESULT
Loading "test.jxl" failed Gwenview cannot display

EXPECTED RESULT
Image opens and shows to the user.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: 5.24.5
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.93.0
Qt Version: 5.15.3

It seems that KDE Neon does not have the libjxl package.

Can KDE Neon maintainers please consider packaging libjxl so that kimageformat-plugins can be built with JXL support?

I have libjxl built and installed manually but gwen still can not view the jxl image.

Did you rebuild and install kimageformat-plugins (kimageformats) with libjxl enabled?
